WHAT IS THE MAKERS MARKET?

The Clawson Makers Market is an affordable retail space to design and customize yourself and sell with NO COMMISSIONS, NO CONSIGNMENT FEES and NO REQUIREMENT TO WORK!


WHAT ARE THE STORE HOURS:

The Artisan Market will be open  M-F  9 - 6, Sat. 8 - 4 and Sunday 8 - Noon. The Creatorspace will be available by appointment (evenings available).


HOW DO I BECOME A VENDOR?

Applications are open to makers and artists who have products that are “MADE”. Unfortunately, we cannot sell MLM Products or Direct Sales. You CAN sell items that are MADE with those products, however. 


WHAT IS A JURIED MARKET?

Part of what makes this Market unique, is the selection of “Makers” we think will create a balanced quality and creativity for our customers. Our team of jurors will make decisions based on originality, marketability, price range and fit for the variety of the Makers Market overall. We will make every effort not to duplicate products.


CAN I RENT MORE THAN ONE SPACE?

Absolutely! Please indicate on your application what you’re interested in. We will work with you on placement. 


CAN I SHARE A SPACE WITH ANOTHER MAKER?

Sure. But you each need to fill out the application separately and will be juried separately. If you’re both accepted, we will make split space payment arrangements. If one is accepted but the other isn’t, we will offer you a space to try to match up with another shared space vendor. Please email ClawsonMakersMarket@gmail.com with the business name of your desired space share after you’ve applied. 


HOW WILL I KNOW IF I GOT IN OR NOT?

All accepted Makers will be notified via email by 11:59pm Sunday, February 10th and invited to the invitation only “Makers Open House” on Saturday, February 16th anytime from 3pm - 9pm to pick your space and start set-up/space design ideas. You will have access to your space Feb. 18 - 28th for set up to prepare for the Grand Opening Friday, March 1, 2019! 


WHAT PERKS DO I RECEIVE FOR BEING A MAKER IN CLAWSON MAKERS MARKET?

  • A guaranteed 3, 6 or 12 month contract
  • Makers will gain exposure to a wide range of retail shoppers in a year-round brick and mortar location.
  • A convenient space to meet your customers to sell, or design and deliver their orders, if wanted.  
  • Your business name, logo and website listed on the CMM website and Facebook page for the duration of their contract
  • FREE “Meet the Maker” business cards to be displayed in the front of the Makers Market for customers to take with your contact information
  • The ability to display your own business cards, contact information and Signage within your space.
  • Access to our “Creatorspace” (by appointment)
  • A “Meet the Maker” spotlight and special on our Social Media during your contract
  • All Retail shopping bags and tags provided
  • Access to Makerspace equipment (by appointment)
  • Flexibility to add and change your inventory as often as you’d like (please remember to always have a minimum of 50% of your space stocked with inventory)
  • NO COMMISSIONS, NO CONSIGNMENT FEES!!! YOU KEEP ALL OF YOUR SALES!! (Walk in “custom” orders for new products not in your inventory will be sold for you with a 10% fee to CMM).  
  • NO RETAIL HOURS TO COMMIT TO! You do not have to “work” at the Makers Market. Although you are welcome to come work on your space as you’d like, there is no requirement to work retail. We will staff CMM and make an effort to become familiar with your products to share with our customers and take custom orders. 


WHAT ARE THE FEES / COSTS?

The spaces range from $50 a month to $100 a month, depending on the space you choose availability and are pre-paid for 3, 6 or 12 months. There are a limited number of each kind of space and will be filled on a first come, first choice basis. There will be an additional 2% charge for any CC transaction deducted when you are paid out each month. You will also have the option of providing PayPal payments to your customers at no charge. 


WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Once you have been accepted, and your booth fee collected, we do not offer refunds. Please make sure you will be able to commit before you apply. Any Space left less than 50% stocked and unattended while empty for more than 5 business days, will result in our right to remove remaining items and display and re-issue the space (unless previous arrangements are made).
